Abstract
UK: Стаття присвячена розгляду функцій іронії у творчості Марка Вовчка та Н.Д. Хвощинської. Наголошується, що іронію можна вважати стилеутворюючим та структуроутворюючим засобом побудови образів «емансіпе».
RU: Статья посвящена рассмотрению функций иронии в романистике Марко Вовчок и Н.Д. Хвощинской. Доказывается, что ирония является стилеобразующим и структурообразующим способом построения образов «эмансипе». EN: The authors use ironical comments in the portrait characteristics of the heroines, in the descriptions of their clothes (they usually wear provocative clothes because they want to attract attention to themselves), mimics, gestures, movements (their movements are impulsive, they are laughing and talking loudly and impudently). The description of 2 the interior is important, too (the most significant are the descriptions of the “studies” and bedrooms of the new women). Almost all details of the description make ironical effect.
The writers shows haughty manners of the heroines, their despotic relationships with the family and servants, their manner of talking and self-rating (as usual it`s too high and it gives cause for the author to make ironical appraisal).
