Abstract

UK: У статті аналізується діяльність Європейської комісії за демократію через право (Венеціанська комісія), яка ухвалює висновки та інші документи з питань, що належать до її компетенції, активно спираючись на загальновизнані принципи і норми міжнародного права. При цьому Венеціанська комісія заявляє, що при ухваленні своїх висновків на перше місце ставляться європейські стандарти, закріплені в Європейській конвенції про захист прав людини і основоположних свобод, а також у практиці Європейського суду з прав людини EN: The article analyzes the activities of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (the Venice Commission), which adopts opinions and other documents on issues within its competence, actively relying on the generally recognized principles and norms of international law. At the same time, the Venice Commission states that in adopting its opinions, the European standards enshrined in the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, as well as in the case law of the European Court of Human Rights, are of primary importance
