Наявність великої кількості конструктив-них типів вантажопідйомних машин викликано як різноманіттям видів і влас-тивостей переміщуваних вантажів, так і різноманіттям способів їхніх перемі-щень. Від раціонального вибору типу вантажопідйомних машин, правильного визначення основних параметрів і добре організованої експлуатації цих машин значною мірою залежить стабільність виробничого процесу й продуктивність підприємства. Козлові крани є одним з основних видів засобів механізації переванта-жувальних і складських робіт. По призначенню козлові крани розділяють на три основні групи: загального призначення, будівельно-монтажні й спеціальні призначення. Простота керування й обслуговування, відносно низька вартість виготовлення й експлуатації обумовили все зростаюче застосування козлових кранів. Козлові крани призначені для виконання операцій, пов'язаних з монта-жем і експлуатацією гідроелектростанцій, складських площадок, контейнер-них терміналів. Специфічні умови експлуатації цих кранів обумовлюють різ-номанітність їхніх конструкцій. Gantry cranes are one of the main types of mechanization of transshipment and warehouse operations. According to their purpose, gantry cranes are divided into three main groups: general purpose, construction and installation, and special purpose. Ease of operation and maintenance, relatively low cost of manufacture and operation have led to the increasing use of gantry cranes. Gantry cranes are designed to perform operations related to the installation and operation of hydroelectric power plants, storage areas, and container terminals. The specific operating conditions of these cranes determine the diversity of their designs.
